Expecting More: Birth Planning & Comfort Measures Workshop

  • Anchorage, Alaska 99507 (map)

Due North Support Services is excited to host and offer this workshop!

This class is exclusively for pregnant Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and their families. This in-person workshop is intended to support parents to become more confident in their abilities during labor and birth. It includes perspectives on how medical bias affects care, voicing preferences, familiarizing parents with informed consent & rights of refusal, and additional related topics.

Join us for this in-person workshop to become more confident in your abilities during labor, postpartum, and the newborn stages.

What can you expect?

- Before you give birth (making arrangements, taking care of yourself, coping techniques for labor discomfort, and more).

- What happens during childbirth (understanding labor, medical interventions, types of births, and more).

- After you give birth (caring for your newborn, postpartum changes and self-care, lactation, and more).

Participants are welcome to attend on their own or bring a partner, family member, or friend. We recommend that the person you choose to bring with you is the same person who will be at your birth. This is an opportunity to connect with other expecting birth givers as well as birth workers in your community.

Refreshments and lunch are provided.

The class is being held in a private rental in Anchorage, AK and the address will be shared only with registered participants.

$99 for the birthing individual, and $49 for their companions. Scholarships are available; for details email hello@duenorthsupportservices.com

Space is LIMITED so register today!
